Love
Are you struggling right now with a sense of rejection and questioning if there is anyone who understands and loves you? Are you seeking love that is unconditional and have not found it? Do you feel that God could not love you? Please know that there is someone who does love you and can fulfill that need for intimacy that you desire. That person is Jesus the Messiah. Almighty God sent him to the world so that we may know what perfect love really is. He demonstrated perfect love to us in two examples while on earth. May I share these wonderful stories with you.
In the Holy Scriptures Jesus said “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:12-13) Jesus did not only speak about love but he proved it by laying down his life for us. There is no higher price that a person can give to prove his love for us than to give his own life. And by giving his life he also forgave our sins.
The second example Jesus gave us is found in his interaction with a prostitute that was caught in the very act. The religious leaders had gathered to do what is right according to the law of Moses, to stone her to death. They asked Jesus what his opinion was. Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dirt and then said, “Let him that is without sin, cast the first stone” (John 8:7). His love for this guilty woman went against the law of Moses but it introduced a new law of forgiveness. Under this new covenant the highest love that one can have for another is to offer forgiveness of sin.
Perhaps you have tried to find love in all the wrong things such as relationships, materialism or even religion but it has all led to emptiness. But Jesus the Messiah is one who has revealed God’s love to you by laying down his life for us and also by forgiving our sins. As the Word from God he has been sent to speak directly to the needs of our heart and offer mercy. God is able to meet the need you have for an intimate love.
Friend, in this time of need ask Almighty God to reveal to you his love that is only found in Jesus the Messiah. You can call out to him right now and ask for Jesus to fill your heart with love and acceptance. He can be very near, right in your heart, if only you will reach out to him by faith.
Here is a simple prayer that you can pray:
Almighty God, I need your love. In Jesus name, I believe you gave your life in love for me and have also offered forgiveness of my sins. Remove emptiness from my heart and replace it with intimate love that only you can give.
